2022 wedding season has already started so we, at Broderie Anglaise, have made a list with the five hottest wedding trends for this year!

1. Destination Elopements

Efficiency and experience: One of the most fun current wedding trends is focused on them. We definitely talk about destination elopements. As an alternative to inviting dozens – or even hundreds – of friends and family members, couples prefer to skip straight to the honeymoon. A destination elopement starts with a modest ceremony abroad and then complete indulgence in relaxation and tourist activities.

2. Eco-Friendly Weddings

If you are an eco-friendly bride or groom-to-be and you are already considering about the paper and food waste, you can decide to plan an eco-friendly wedding. Nowadays, so many wedding companies, venues, and vendors are offering more eco-friendly wedding options. From farm to table food options to recycled paper invitations, you will not find a shortage of options when planning your eco-friendly wedding.

3. Weekday Weddings

After so many wedding cancelations or delays due to covid-19 pandemic, the wedding industry faces a huge backlog of weddings. If you eant to plan your wedding in 2022, 2023 or 2024, this is one emerging trend that you couldn’t just ignore it. Yes, we know that that having your wedding on a Monday, or Thursday maybe be less convenient for your guests, but if you want an destination wedding, when your guests are on vacation or if you have a small guest list, this is not a problem anymore!

 4. Virtual Save-the-Dates

With so many changes that couples had to make to their wedding dates in 2020 and 2021, virtual wedding invitations became really popular! We loved the idea of virtual save-the-dates followed by a paper invitation, despite the fact that we believe the romance of actual stationery can never be recreated online. Just be sure to print copies for any guests who may not have access to the digital versions!

5. The Little White Dress

Elopements, two-part weddings, micro weddings and casual-chic civil ceremonies: the format of weddings after covid-19 has been forever changed. One significant benefit is the ability to create multiple bridal looks with the beloved short wedding dresses, otherwise known as the little white dress! In 2022, we’re expecting to see more short bridal hemlines than ever before, at multi-part weddings, rescheduled evening receptions and intimate celebrations. The best part? A LWD is is so adaptable that you can wear it long after the wedding is over!

6. Bold, Vibrant Colours

Colour palettes with a lot of pastels have been fashionable for a few years now. This year, however, we are thrilled to introduce bright bursts of color to the party! This one has to be one of our favorite 2022 wedding decor trends, with vibrant color-block palettes, monochromatic with startling bursts of color, and unusual, color-clashing combinations. Remember that the Pantone Color of the Year is Very Peri, a deep purple colour that we already adore!

7. Clear Acrylic Wedding Décor

If you’re planning an ultra-trendy event, consider using clear acrylic pieces to add style. These designs appear ultra-sleek, and you’d be shocked to learn that they’re actually more durable than regular glass. Although these decorations and elements are light and appear delicate, they are nearly impossible to shatter…

8. Hanging Flowers Décor

Planning a boho or a country wedding? Hanging flower decor can turn every location into a fairy tale forest, be it a backyard, a simple tent, or a barn. Wisteria flowers, hanging low from the ceiling, various flower arrangements, and even small potted plants – what can be more festive? Make your wedding guests feel the power of nature!

Go bold and chic with a floral chandelier of pink roses and neutral tulips. You can also create floating centerpieces by merging your wedding blooms with matching runners.
